5. You Must Seek the Path as Valuable Treasure – 2:4

6. Then You Will Understand the fear of the LORD – 2:5

 

v1My son, if you accept my words, and my commands you store up with you –

v2by making your ear attentive to wisdom, you will apply your heart to understanding –

v3indeed, if to insight you call out, to understanding you raise your voice;

v4if you seek it as for silver, and as for hidden treasures you search for it,

v5then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and the knowledge of God you will find.

The Consequences of Knowing and Taking the Path of

the Fear of the LORD in Proverbs

1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

1:28-29

Then they will call out to me but will not answer, they will look diligently for me but will find me, because they hated knowledge, and the fear of the LORD they did not choose.

To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
